so i think a sea horse is enough to revive the blog......
so today is the third day of me being sick ever in T&C but luckily it is the carifta games (the caribbean olympics) which means the the club has been taken over by 17 year old athletes who don't drink and don't stay up late, ie i have all of a sudden become obsolete here in the club. however i still need to be behind the bar from 4 to 12am to make smoothies and juices as needed. kinda bull but whatever. anyways it also means no diving so i though ahead and did a lot of diving this past week. i dove with the new scuba guy cam who complimented my nav techniques as well as air consumption and i am starting to feel pretty confident with my training as all the scuba boys (there is only one female left on the team, c lee, and she's like the mom) say "well you are scuba kate" which is always nice to hear. i finished my deep specialty the other day with c. lee and melina, and we had the coldest yet best dive ever. we saw my fantastic four that i dream of seeing every time i dive (i even recite them to myself as a means of good luck) they are: 1. shark, 2. turtle, 3. ray, 4. something i've never seen before. and we saw all of them including a seahorse, yes a sea horse. oh and some pufferfish mating which is maybe the cutest thing ever. regardless, it made my day for sure.
so since my last post we have had a new bartender who quit, an old bartender who left, a bartender who got drunk at work and became out of control and was banished to sharkies for the rest of her contract (ending this saturday), another bartender who went on vacation and never came back and we have a new bartender who may not last the summer. also, all of the rest of the team has decided they are leaving, even antonio is leaving and i believe it probably has to do with the fact that he realized what a job he has done here in turks and wants to start anew. hopefully he will take what he has learned here and improve his managerial techniques for next season.
i have been really happy though, i have been spending time with those i care about as well as making my time here count, my DM should be done in the next week or so, and although i don't really want to work for clubmed they do have some of the safest dive practices around and really cover their instructors which i can really respect and as an instructor, it would seem like a very attractive attribute. so something to think about for the winter season.
i am so excited to come home, i have been thinking of moving to montreal and picking up french i'm really excited about it actually as well i'm excited to come back and spend time with those i have been missing. it looks like i'll be back the first week in may but clubmed isn't one for organization so its really anyone's guess.
sorry about the huge delay, maybe no one will even check the blog but at least i'm keeping up on my commitment to myself and trying to keep track of my stuff that has been going on.
